Paint is a fascinating material, with a rich history that has served kings, empires and communities. Most are aware that it is more often used to refer to something else e.g. portraits, landscapes, or indeed to hide or disguise a surface like wood or metal. I believe it does not need to allude to something else in order to have currency as it can be remarkable on its own terms. My work reflects this concern and engagement.
