Philip Towers
Just as a memory or dream fades into ambiguity a trace is left in its place sometimes like a distant feeling or
notion.
The shapes that populate my compositions are random traces that float around in my unconscious (I think), shapes
that evoke scrambled or distant emotions or experiences.
The paintings although carefully assembled are in content and process autonomous and intuitive as the working process
begins to gather its own momentum it just as easily draws to its own conclusion.
The shapes to me draw on personal experience from conscious and unconscious sources. My part from a physical studio
based angle is a cohesive but playful poke in the direction of abstraction and the digital era, the interpretation
of these images is for the individual.
