Laura Robertson

My work aims to engage with death. I am in pursuit of expressing 'duende' - the eerie and inexplicable sadness that lives in one's dark creative heart. The process is as important as the visual; typewriters may be used to cause paper wounds; just as forms appear from the hold of thought and repetition of text/writing. Grief poems and laments captivate me; ancient expressions of loss haunt and inspire.
