Working alongside commonly found opinion that art is a closed topic to those who lack prior training or incite,
and that actions of artists may have little social worth or function, I endevour to highlight that when encountering
the existence of a work of art, the roles of artist and spectator are not mutually exclusive.
My work invites the spectator to create narratives drawn from suggestions laid within the work, thus involving the audience
in the creative process in turn giving a claim to the works authorship.
When choosing mediums and settings for my work I continue to take into consideration how these elements can further dissolve
the potential for isolating the viewer. Using objects we are familiar with in the 'everyday' allows
for a confidence in dealing with non precious materials.
