Salford Leftfield

Leftfield Fine Art Publishing is an initiative of the University of Salford's School of Art & Design and was established with the help of the Enterprise & Development Technology Transfer & Commercialisation Unit based at the University. Our main aim is to promote the work of recent graduates and Masters Students within the region whilst providing this at an affordable cost effective price for use in both personal and professional environments.

We have created an ever expanding, dynamic artistic community - a network of artists, designers, writers, filmmakers and photographers each presenting works that illustrate how fine art, design and digital media can richly reflect the diversity and excellence in our city and its' neighboring towns and regions.

Leftfield is run by practicing artists, many of whom graduated from the University of Salford. We believe that what we have developed, and continue to expand, represents an important and effective model for creating and sustaining artistic communities. From here, brave and exciting ideas spring forth without any compromise in integrity, with the assurance and guidance of a group of like minded people: people who are, first and foremost artists themselves.

Leftfield is also a means by which early career artists can stay in touch and, informally, generate exhibition or collective projects that move them towards commercial or cultural markets.
